Job Description
Role Objective
To lead, govern, and optimize all banking operations, export–import documentation, regulatory compliance, and trade coordination functions of the organization, ensuring seamless execution of domestic and international trade while maintaining zero compliance risk, operational efficiency, and strong stakeholder management.
This role owns end-to-end trade operations governance, excluding core Finance & Accounts, and acts as the single-point leadership interface with banks, customs, DGFT, shipping lines, and regulatory bodies.
Key Result Areas (KRAs)
1. Strategic Ownership of Banking Operations
- Overall ownership of all bank-related operational activities, including:
- Trade finance instruments (LCs, BGs, SBLCs, PC, PSF, bill discounting)
- Export realization and compliance with RBI / FEMA norms
- Strategic relationship management with:
- Banks, Trade Finance Heads, Forex Desks, and Relationship Managers
- Ensure optimal utilization of banking facilities and smooth operational execution
2. End-to-End EXIM Operations Governance
- Establish and govern standard operating procedures (SOPs) for:
- Export and import documentation
- LC compliance and document alignment
- Final authority on:
- Commercial invoices, packing lists, BL / AWB, COO, insurance, shipping instructions
- Ensure document accuracy across banking, customs, shipping, and regulatory interfaces
3. Regulatory & Compliance Leadership (DGFT, Customs, RBI)
- Own all interactions with:
- DGFT (IEC, Advance Authorisation, EPCG, incentives, clarifications)
- Customs authorities and allied government agencies
- Lead responses to audits, notices, and regulatory reviews
4. Shipping Line, CHA & Logistics Oversight
- Strategic oversight of: Shipping lines, freight forwarders, and CHAs
5. Cross-Functional Leadership & Internal Coordination
6. Risk Management, Controls & Process Excellence
- Identify and mitigate risks and process automation and documentation trackers
7. Team Leadership & Capability Building
